This year, with the help of friends and colleagues, we began a project called Million Ideas for Peace. The purpose of this project is to define social activism in a new way that is positive, inclusive and supports what people are doing in everyday and extraordinary ways to create of a culture of peace. On April 12, 2008 Million Ideas for Peace presented a workshop, Cultivating the Art of Active Peace held at the Seattle Art Museum. The workshop is build on the premise that peace in our lives and the world will be achieved through the integration of diverse social changes that take us beyond the cessation of violence and war.

Culitvating the Art of Active Peace was a full-day creative and interactive workshop designed to help participants connect their strengths and passions to the creation of a culture of peace. We explored questions such as:
